Early Settlers of Matamoros: Jose Miguel Chapa and Rosa Maria Trevino

An early settling family of Matamoros is that of Jose Miguel Chapa and Rosa Maria Trevino. Here you will find their children and who they married.

Jose Miguel Chapa and Rosa Maria Trevino are listed, in documents dating 1784, among the thirteen settlers of the area that later on became Matamoros.

Jose Miguel Chapa is the son of Jose Miguel Eusebio de Chapa and Ana Maria Garcia. He married Rosa Maria Trevino in August 15, 1764 in Camargo, Nuevo Santander (Camargo, Tamaulipas). She was the daughter of Jose Antonio Trevino and Maria Isabel Cavazos.

Jose Miguel is a direct descendant of Juan Bautista Chapa.

To date, I have only found seven children for them
