Early Settlers of Revilla: Joseph Domingo Guerra and Maria Tomasa Lucia Martinez

An early settling family of Revilla is that of Joseph Domingo Guerra and Maria Tomasa Lucia Martinez. Here you will find their children and who they married.

Joseph Domingo Guerra and Maria Tomasa Lucia Martinez are listed in the 1753 census of Revilla, but by the 1757 census, they are no longer listed.

This young couple, by 1753 had only two children, it seems that they did not stay in Revilla but left back to Salinas Victoria where they had most of their children based on baptism records.

The marriage records for Cerralvo are missing prior to 1756 and thus I think that trying to recreate family groups that lived before and or immediately after this date is very important.

To date, I have not been able to find out who the parents of Joseph Domingo Guerra are. According to the research of Crispin Rendon they may be Andres Guerra Cañamar and Maria Flores de Abrego, but he has no citation nor have I been able to find proof establishing the relationship.

The parents of Maria Tomasa Lucia Martinez are Joseph Felix Martinez and Gregoria Bermudes.

So far I have only come across ten children for them.

Here are the names of their children and whom they married. For more descendants of theirs please visit our Genealogy Database for South Texas and Northeastern Mexico.
