Early Settlers of Laredo: Jose Onesimo Bustamante and Ana Maria Garcia

An early settling family from the 1700s of Laredo is that of Jose Onesimo Bustamante and Ana Maria Garcia. They probably married before 1772 in Laredo and most of thier children married in Laredo in the early 1800s.

I have yet to discover who the parents of Jose Onesimo Bustmanate are. The parents of Ana Maria Garcia are Jose Prudencio Garcia and Maria Josepha Sanchez.

To date, I have only been able to find nine children for them.

JOSE ONESIMO¹ BUSTAMANTE ^1-9.  He married ANA MARIA GARCIA (daughter of Jose Prudencio Garcia and Maria Josepha Sanchez). She was born between 1750-1760 in Laredo, Webb, Texas, USA⁵.

Jose Onesimo Bustamante and Ana Maria Garcia had the following children:

1. MARIA JOSEPHA CANDELARIA² BUSTAMANTE² (daughter of Jose Onesimo Bustamante and Ana Maria Garcia) was born before 02 Feb 1772².
2. JOSE ANTONIO PIO BUSTAMANTE¹ (son of Jose Onesimo Bustamante and Ana Maria Garcia) was born before 21 Jul 1777¹.
3. MARIA JOSEFA BUSTAMANTE⁴ (daughter of Jose Onesimo Bustamante and Ana Maria Garcia) was born before 21 Aug 1779⁴. She died on 21 Aug 1779 in Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe, Salinas Victoria, Nuevo Leon, Mexico⁴.
4. MARIA IGNACIA BUSTAMANTE³ (daughter of Jose Onesimo Bustamante and Ana Maria Garcia) was born before 01 Oct 1779³. She died on 01 Oct 1779 in Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe, Salinas Victoria, Nuevo Leon, Mexico³.
5. ANTONIO BUSTAMANTE⁶ (son of Jose Onesimo Bustamante and Ana Maria Garcia) was born in Laredo, Webb, Texas, USA⁶. He married MARIA LUISA GALAN (daughter of Joaquin Galan and Maria Josepha Sanchez). She was born before 15 Sep 1761 in Villa de Laredo, Texas^{6, 10}.
6. CRISTOBAL BUSTAMANTE⁸ (son of Jose Onesimo Bustamante and Ana Maria Garcia) was born in Salinas⁸. He married MARIA DOLORES RIVERA (daughter of Jose Maria Rivera and Manuela Ramos). She was born in Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico⁸.
7. IGNACIO BUSTAMANTE^{9, 11-12} (son of Jose Onesimo Bustamante and Ana Maria Garcia) was born in Salinas⁹. He married MARIA ENCARNACION FLORES (daughter of Santiago Flores and Josefa de Cervera). She was born in Precidio del Rio Grande⁹.
8. LUIS BUSTAMANTE^{7, 13-14} (son of Jose Onesimo Bustamante and Ana Maria Garcia) was born in Laredo, Webb, Texas, USA^{7, 13}. He married (1) MARIA GERTRUDIS OCHOA (daughter of Manuel Ochoa). She was born in Malanoche⁷. She died before 10 Nov 1824¹³. He married (2) CECILIA VILLARREAL (daughter of Antonio Villarreal and Maria Francisca Moreno). She was born in Sabinas¹³.
9. RAFAEL BUSTAMANTE^{8, 15} (son of Jose Onesimo Bustamante and Ana Maria Garcia) was born in Laredo, Webb, Texas, USA⁸. He died before 17 Feb 1828¹⁵. He married MARIA TERESA GALAN (daughter of Joaquin Galan and Ignacia Sandoval). She was born in La Iguana⁸. She died before 06 Sep 1830¹⁵.
