Early Settlers of Revilla: Jose Antonio Ochoa and Clara Maria Cuellar

Jose Antonio Ochoa and Clara Maria Cuellar
 One of the early families of  La Villa de Revilla is that of: Jose Antonio Ochoa and Clara Maria Cuellar. They are listed in the 1757 census of Revilla as follows: "Don Jose Ochoa, casado con Doña Clara Cuellar, dos hijos, armas, quince caballos, un burro y un sirviente". In english: Sir Jose Ochoa, married to Mrs. Clara Cuellar, two sons, arms, fifteen horses, one donkey and one servant.

I have yet to find whom the parents of Jose Antonio Ochoa. The parents of Clara Maria Cuellar are Tomas Ventura de Lizarraraz y Cuellar and Maria Ines Martinez.

  1. Jose Antonio Ochoa’s father died a little before the land grants were given in 1767. Jose Antonio received half of Porcion 29 in Zapata County.
    Isabel Gonzalez mother of Jose Antonio received Porcion 28 in Zapata County. Jose Antonio’s father was Juan Jose Ochoa.
