Early Settlers of Mier: Jose Manuel Hinojosa and Maria Juana Sanchez

Jose Manuel Hinojosa and Maria Juana Sanchez

An early settling family of Mier, Tamaulipas, Mexico is that of Jose Manuel Hinojosa and Maria Juana Sanchez. In the 1757 census of Mier they are listed as follows: "Don Jose Manuel de Hinojosa el mozo, casado con doña Juana Sanchez, tiene dos hijos, armas y quince caballos".

Jose Manuel Angel Hinojosa is the son of Jose Manuel Hinojosa and Maria Ines Chapa.

The parents of Maria Juana Gertrudis Sanchez are Simon Sanchez Navarro and Juana Maria Antonia Ramirez.

I found a total of twelve children for them and here are the names of their children and whom they married to. For more descendants of theirs please visit our Community Family Tree.

Here is their family group:

  1. Moises, thanks for this valuable info, it will certainly help me. I am currently awaiting the arrival of your book on the founding families of Mier. Family Search has posted a family tree lineage connecting me to Capitan Blas Maria De La Garza Falcon, but I have run up against a glitch that shows no supporting documents yet posted for a supposed descendant of Jose Eugenio Ramirez and Maria Rita de la Garza Falcon that ties me to them. The ancestors names that are tying me to them include Pena and Zuniga. I am hoping your book will give me some more clues to find the docs. In the meantime, do you have plans to publish a book on the Ramirez family line in the future?
