Before the 1790s the area around China, Nuevo Leon used to belong to the parish of Cerralvo. In the middle of the decade of the 1790s, they started to be recorded in China.

Jose Tomas Cantu and Maria Rosa Gonzalez had one of those first marriages.

They married on the 25th of April 1796, at the San Felipe de Jesus Church, China, Nuevo Leon, Mexico.

The parents of Jose Tomas are Jose Faustino Antonio Cantu and Maria Eufemia Faxardo Quintanilla. The parents of Maria Rosa are Jose Cipriano Gonzalez Ochoa and Juana Dios Garcia Torres.
