Early Settlers of Mier: Jose Bartolome Flores and Maria Rita Selvera Vela
A family from the late 1700's of Cerralvo, is that of Jose Bartolome Flores and Maria Rita Selvera Vela. They married married about 1766 either in Cerralvo or Mier since thei first child was born on the 15th of August 1767 in Mier. They resided at Rancho Peña Blanca, wich I suspect is present day Los Altitos, Tamaulipas near Arcabuz.
Jose Bartolo received porcion 13 in the jurisdiction of Mier in 1767.
To date I ahve not lcoated a document that mentions the names of the parents of Jose Bartolo. The parents of Maria Rita Selvera Vela are Jose Vela and Maria Guadalupe Felipa (castiza) de Cervera.
Up to today I have only been able to locate ten children for them.
