Early Settlers of Camargo: Francisco Lopez de Jaen and Maria Agustina Longoria
One of the early settlers of Camargo is the family of Jose Francisco Lopez de Jaen and Maria Agustina Longoria. They are listed in the 1757 census of camargo as follows "Francisco Lopez de Jaen, casado con Maria de Longoria, tiene diez hijos, todas armas, veinte caballos y un burro".
To date, I have yet to discover who the parents of Jose Francisco Lopez de Jaen. In his will dated December 12, 1767 he did not mention the names of his parents but he did mention that he was from San Juan de Cadereyta.
The parents of Maria Agustina Longoria are Juan Diego Longoria and Clara Maria de Chapa from Cerralvo.
Below is the cut out of the 1750 census of Camargo listing them and some of their children.
Through my research, I have been able to find thirteen children for them.
Below are also the names of their children and who they married. For more descendants of theirs please visit our Community Family Tree.
