    Forum Description

This past Sunday Irma Salinas Saldaña presented her family website titled "The Salinas and Saldaña Family Tree Website" to Las Villas del Norte.

Her presentation was very informative and contained a great deal of genealogical information. She spoke about her Ancestors Jose Felipe Guerra Hinojosa and Maria Josefa Gonzalez and how he was able to amass land and grow his state.

Then she went on to tell us about the founding of Las Escobas Ranch in present-day Starr county and how Jose A Salinas the husband of Maria Emilia Guerra inherited Las Escobas Ranch and how he improved the ranch. His pedigree chart is available on her website for download.

As Irma continued to tell us name after name of ancestors I could not keep but be on my phone looking at my tree to see how we match. Many of her ancestors are also my ancestors.

One of those ancestors is El Cid, Rodrigo Diaz Vivar, who lived from the 1040s to the 1090s. The information on him was very interesting.

It Is evident that Irma has a passion for genealogy due to the extensive information that she has available on her website.

If you are a Salinas and or Saldaña from South Texas you must check Irma's presentation out. She also has research on many other last names commonly found in South Texas and Northeastern Mexico, last names such as Garcia, Guerra, and Hinojosa.
