  Maria Lina Jesus Ayala Rocha, born in 1807, is my 4th great-grandmother, and I haven’t had any luck finding her grandparents.

  I could not find their parents but in the book, Informes Matrimoniales del Antiguo Valle del Guaxuco – Villa de Santiago, N.L. 1751 – 1810 (Monterrey. Mexico, Self Published, 1996), University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, Edinburg, Texas., Pg. 86. It is indicated that Jose and Maria had a marriage investigation dated 31 Jan 1800 in Santiago Apostol Church. Not sure where to obtain a copy of the original but it may have more information.

    A marriage Investigation was conducted prior to a couple being married by a priest. The record was made in writing with the results and witness testimonies. These records usually contain a wealth of genealogical information.
