Hello Everyone, I am researching more information on the place where my great grandmother, Eleuteria Flores was born in 1883. The document I have is called Certified Copy of Old Date Birth Report and it lists Berjel, Texas as the City or Precinct No. and also as the Residence at Time of Birth. I cannot find any information on a city or town named Berjel, Texas. Any insight you could provide would be helpful. Thank you!

Laura, try Bexar. Bexar is the county in San Antonio, Texas and was created in 1836.

Also, you need to be looking at baptismal records when searching that timeframe.

Thank you, Lisa. Because the document I have is certified, I assumed that the town name was accurate. All of my family was from the south near the Rio Grande (on both sides) so looking at San Antonio doesn’t seem to make sense to me, however, I’ll give it a try. Thanks, again.

Laura, people traveled and you will be amazed at the places they visited. I have been finding marriages of people from many parts of Mexico getting married in Bexar County from 1742 to 1850.
