Early Settlers of Revilla: Antonio Joaquin Salinas and Magdalena de Jesus Pena
One of the early settling families of Revilla is that of Jose Antonio Joaquin Salinas and Maria Magdalena de Jesus Pena. They are mentioned in the 1757 census of Revilla as follows: "Don Joaquin Salinas, casado con Doña Maria de Peña, dos hijos, armas y seis caballos."
I have yet to find out who the parents of Jose Antonio Joaquin Salinas are. The parents of Maria Magdalena are Jose Bacilio Peña and Francisca Javiera Gutierrez de Lara.
To date, I have only been able to find twelve children for them.
Here are the names of their children and who they married. For more descendants of theirs please visit our Community Family Tree. You can also find this family in the book "Early Families of Revilla and Their Descendants".
Here is their family group:

I am related to #2 on the list – MARIA ANTONIA DE LOS DOLORES SALINAS, but I have Magdalena de Jesus Pena as the daughter of Joseph Jacinto de la Pena and Ana Maria Guajardo Gutierrez de Castro – which I have sourced from a book by Carrol Norquest titled “Las Villas del Norte The Pena Descendancy 2004 edition pg11. He uses a variety of sources including Mil Familias, Family Search, SAGA, and Felipe de la Pena books. If you like, I can email you an image from page 11.
The above children are the ones I have come across in my research-based on the listed citations. There may be more but I have yet to come across them. I have the 2005 version of Norquests’s book and could not find her. Please email me pg 11 of his 2004 version to see what his source for her is.
