One of the early settling families of Laredo, Texas is that of Juan Garcia Saldivar and Catharina de las Casas Martinez. They are listed on the 1757 census of Laredo as follows: " Don Juan Garcia Zaldivar, casado con Doña Catarina de las Casas, todas armas, cinco caballos y dos sirvientes".

I have yet to discover who the parents of Juan Garcia Saldivar are. I did find some references as to who they are but none cite any reliable documents.

The parents of Catharina de las Casas Martinez are Juan de las Casas and Ana Martinez.
