Early Families of Laredo: Jose Tomas Uribe and Maria Teresa de la Garza

An early family of Laredo is that of Jose Tomas Uribe and Maria Teresa de la Garza. On June 22, 1767, Jose Tomas was granted Porcion 45 in Laredo, it was 5,314 acres of land.

Most of their children were born in Salinas Victoria and were baptized there. Guillermo Garmendia Leal in his book "Origen de Los Fundadores de Laredo" states that Jose Tomas was the adopted son of Felipe de Eribe and Maria de Treviño.

To date, I have not been able to find the parents of Maria Teresa de la Garza.

So far, I have only been able to find five children for them.
