Early Settlers of Mier: Jose Francisco Ignacio Gutierrez and Maria Matiana de Hinojosa

An early settling family of Mier, Tamaulipas, Mexico is that of Jose Francisco Ignacio Gutierrez and Maria Matiana de Hinojosa. In the 1757 census of Mier, they are listed as follows "Don Ignacio Gutierrez, casado con Doña Maria Hinojosa, dos hijos, armas, diez caballos, un burro y dos sirvientes, el uno casado, tres hijos.

I have yet to discover the parents for both of Jose Francisco and Maria Matiana. It is known that they came from Cerralvo and unfortunately records for Cerralvo prior to 1750 cannot be found.
