Early Families of Saltillo: Luis de Morales and Juana de Trevino

Luis de Morales and Juana de Trevino

An early family of Saltillo from the 1600s is that of Luis de Morales and Juana de Trevino. Here you will find their family group showing their children and who they married.

I have yet to discover who the parents of Luis de Morales are. The parents of his wife Juana de Treviño are Pedro de Salazar and Isabel de Quintanilla. Juana adopted the Treviño surname from her maternal grandfather, Diego de Treviño.

The major source of piecing this family together is the various marriage investigations conducted on their descendants.

  1. Hello Moises, it seems that on Crispin Rendons tree for Pedro Longorias you have Luis de Morales as a grandson of Pedro Longoria. is there evidence for this ?

    1. Hello Anthony, as my post says I don’t have any parents for Luis de Morales, so no idea if he descends from Pedro Longoria. If Crispin has him as a grandson of Pedro Longoria then I suggest you contact him for a source. If he provides you one let me know so that I can update his information.

In Guerra, Vasquez, and Vela, Index to the Marriage Investigations of the Diocese of Guadalajara 1653 – 1750 (Edinburg, Texas, Self-Published; Location, 1989), Pg. 220 #31 it is indicated that Luis de Morales and Lorenzo Longoria are brothers. I will review this entry and see if it has enough clues to indicate possible parents.
