    An early settling family of Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico is that of Baltazar de Sosa and Maria Ines Rodriguez. This couple lived from the early 1500s to the late 1500s. I have yet to discover who the parents of Baltazar de Sosa were but those of his wife, Maria Ines Rodriguez, is Diego de Montemayor and Ines Rodriguez. Here I have only posted information about their children and whom they married. For additional descendants look for them in our Community Family Tree.     BALTAZAR1 DE SOSA1-6 was born in 1537 in Portugal5. He died in 1595 in Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico5. He married MARIA INES RODRIGUEZ (daughter of Diego de Montemayor and Ines Rodriguez).

    Baltazar de Sosa and Maria Ines Rodriguez had the following children:

    1. DIEGO2 RODRIGUEZ1, 3-4, 6-8 (son of Baltazar de Sosa and Maria Ines Rodriguez) was born in 1567 in Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico4. He married (1) SEBASTIANA DE TREVINO QUINTANILLA (daughter of Juan de Farias and Maria de Trevino). He married (2) ISABEL ARREDONDO. Church Marriage: 15844
    2. MARIA RODRIGUEZ (daughter of Baltazar de Sosa and Maria Ines Rodriguez)2, 6, 9-13.  She married JUAN NAVARRO. He was born in 1533 in Vizcaya, Spain14. He died in 1594 in Mexico14.
    3. LUCAS GARCIA3, 6, 15-19 (son of Baltazar de Sosa and Maria Ines Rodriguez) was born about 1570 in Mexico17. He died on 23 Feb 166717. He married JULIANA DE QUINTANILLA (daughter of Juan de Farias and Maria de Trevino). She was born in 1578 in Mexico City, D.F., Mexico17.
