Jovita is in my Guerra family lineage. Her great grandmother (Ramona Guerra) was my great greatfather’s sister. I have this book and several others, like The Woman Who Lost Her Soul, Dew on the Thorn, and Caballero. Jovita died before any of her books were published. There is a special collection of her writings at The Texas A & M University in Corpus Christi, Texas who were found and donated by the person who inherited her home after her death. All her writings were in boxes. How grateful we need to be to the person who had the wisdom to look over the box of disorganized papers and donate them to the library for review instead of discarding them. She was a great woman with much accomplishments for her time in history.
